Our trip to the DLR
Ten pupils
from our class were invited to the 10th anniversary of the DLR
school lab. So we drew lots to decide who of us is allowed to go. Then, on the 3rd
July ten pupils went to the DLR school lab in Wahn, Germany with their class
teacher - including me. First everyone of us got a DLR baseball cap and we
had to form a group. In the groups we were able to study two topics with
many experiments. The topics were, for example, “mission to mars”, “gravity
biology” or “infrared”. We also had a big barbecue while we were talking to
real astronauts who had introduced themselves before. They were all very
friendly and funny, so we took pictures with them, too. One astronaut,
Alexander Volkov, had a woman with him who translated his language (Russian) into
German. After the midday break we went to the astronauts` training centre which
was very interesting because there was a
model of the space station in the scale of 1:1. Finally,0 everybody got a
certificate and we went back home. It was a great time at the DLR, but it was a
pity that only ten pupils could go. Maybe we can visit them again with
everybody and take part in another program. I enjoyed the day very much!
